But, luckily, he didn’t oversleep for his party!! ;-)

Yesterday, David and I went to a suprise party for one of our friend’s, Roy Zepp. His daughter found us on the internet and invited us to her house for the suprise party. David and I were honored to be invited. Roy is a great guy to hang out with!! ;-)

By the way, the party was magnificent, wonderful food and company. We had such a great time. It was nice to see and catch up with Roy. He is doing and looking great!! Not only does he exercise once or twice a day on his new stationary bicycle, but he is also tech savy. He knows about all the latest gadgets out there. He is my kind of guy (wink ;-) )!

Thanks Christine and Josephine for inviting us and making it an evening to remember. Keep up the good work, Roy. You’re looking good!!

Your Friends,
Talli and David

Water and Plants Aid in Relaxation!

Fountain at the side of the house.

Originally uploaded by tvansunder.

David and I love plants, the sound of water and fish swimming around. These things help bring peace into our lives. In today’s fast paced world one encounters a lot of stress and negative emotions/thoughts that take a toll on one’s body. But, it doesn’t have to be that way when you are at home. Your home should be a place of beauty and comfort.

For David and I, our home is a place of peace and nurturing. We want a place where we can sit outside for hours, drinking tea and conversing about the days events, while hearing the sound of water, seeing our fish eating in our pond (not pictured here) and looking over the beauty of nature (plants, birds). This fountain pictured here, David placed on the side of our house. Our goal is to surround our house with peaceful things, which make us happy and content with our lives. Which is mainly based on enjoying our surroundings and each others company rather than seeking pleasure from materialistic things. To be content I believe one must find it internally and not in materialistic things.

Goodnight everyone. My tea is ready…got to go enjoy it! :-)

Sugar Pumpkin From our Mini Farm

Sugar Pumpkin From our Mini Farm

Originally uploaded by tvansunder.
Isn’t she a beauty? I can’t help but to choke up inside everytime I look at my beautiful little orange sugar pumpkin. I wonder if she will look just as beautiful when I cut her up and puree her into a pumpkin biscuit, bread or pie. Maybe not, but she sure will taste super yummy in my tummy!! :-0

Well, this lovely sugar pumpkin was the first one to be harvested in our organic mini farm. There are two more growing as we speak and some remaining flowers on the vine that might still produce.

I am probably going to try my hand at pureeing this pumpkin later on next week.

Today was busy day doing a lot of research….some success stories some not. But that is the way life is sometimes…

Well, not too much news today. It was just a normal day here. Off to have some tea and millet bread with David. Talk to you later.

A New Recipe – Organic Chocolate/Banana Pudding

Cocoa/Banana Pudding

Originally uploaded by tvansunder.
Yes, I am back in business!! It has been a while since I have gotten my hands into something new. The reason that I haven’t experimented with new recipes for a while is because David and I have been eating leftovers from his birthday party, which was last week.

A few days ago, I made an organic chocolate banana pudding for the first time. Unfortunately, it was not a success and I won’t make it again. The banana taste was just too strong for David and my liking. Oh well, not everything I make has to be a winner. But, the ones that are winners end up in my cooking binder. One day, I think I will convert my binder to a book filled with my favorite healthy organic recipes. For now, I am having fun just experimenting and building up my cooking binder with yummy eats.

Well, David and I were busy today as usual. Actually, we are always busy. That my friends is our life. We just have so many interests and we like to pursue a lot of them.

Today is my sister’s due date. It is going to be her first child. Hmmm, I am looking forward to hearing how the labor went. I’ve heard giving birth is the worst pain a woman experiences.

Well, time for me to go and relax. Later fans!!

Vincent’s Apartment

Vincent’s Apartment

Originally uploaded by tvansunder.

Today, we went over to San Jose to see David’s friend Vincent’s new apartment. The apartment is really nice and clean. Good job Vincent. You have my approval! :-) David’s other friends Peggy and Doug also came to see the apartment.

Afterwards, we all headed for lunch to a Korean restaurant in Santa Clara. It was pretty good. It was nice to hang out with David’s friends. They are a very nice bunch of people.

When we came home, David and I had some green tea and than we walked around the neighborhood for an hour and a half. It was very pleasant weather to walk in.

Well, we just finished dinner now and I have to go wash some dishes. Talk to you all later.

What Did David Do On His 30th Birthday?

Breakfast: French Toast with Tea

Originally uploaded by tvansunder.

Yesterday, David turned 30 years old. Finally, he will be mature like I am!! :-) I’ve been 30 for almost 5 months now. I’ve been waiting for him to catch up to me. I’ll have to show him the ropes around this new age, of course. He is a fast learner though, so it won’t be too hard to teach him.;-)

So, David’s birthday was actually a fun and relaxing day. Now it is time for me to take you through his day!

He woke up around 9:45pm and then he ate breakfast, which was french toast with cinnamon and sugar on top. You can tell that he is enjoying his breakfast.

Lunch: Pizza

Originally uploaded by tvansunder.

After breakfast, he went on the computer a little bit and then it was time for lunch, which was leftover pizza from last night. Every year, he picks a place where he wants to eat for his birthday outing. This year it was Mission Pizza and last year it was a burger at Jack’s. We decided to go on Tuesday night rather then Wednesday night to pizza because they have double coupon days on Tuesdays….you get more pizza for your buck!!

Table Set for a Family Gathering

Originally uploaded by tvansunder.

After lunch, I got the table ready for an intimate family gathering.

David, my in-laws and my brother in-law

Originally uploaded by tvansunder.

The gathering was David’s parents and brother. They came over around 3:00p.m. to be part of the birthday festivities. I made an organic chocolate mousse for his birthday. By the way, chocolate mousse is David’s favorite dessert of all time. It was very yummy! Coffee, tea and a few other snacks were also served.

Out in the Garden

Originally uploaded by tvansunder.

After eating, we all headed outside for a little bit. It was a hot day (93 degrees) and the air outside was starting to get cooler than the inside of the house. So, it was nice to be outside. We all ended up sitting at the side of the house by our fountain talking for a while. At 6:30p.m. David’s family had to leave to run a few errands. It was very nice of them to come over to help celebrate David’s special day. I had a lot of fun with his family and feel honored to be part of such a nice/great family. Thanks for coming over Harry, Isabel and Michael!! :-)

David’s new look at 30!

Originally uploaded by tvansunder.

For dinner, we ate leftover turkey burgers and chips and salsa. After that, we went on an hour walk around the neighborhood. It was very relaxing!! I like walking after dinner.

As the night came to a close, David cracked open a new port bottle and had a glass of port. David’s 30th day was a day to remember. Not only did he turn 30 but he also changed……can you tell by looking at his picture?? I think he looks wonderful!!

Well, that is all folks. Until next time, have a goodnight. :-)
